Activities Out Of School

SMI GATHERING
THEME : LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS

Our school rangers joined the SMI Gathering which was held yesterday in their school. About 33 rangers went and each of them represented the school for different kinds of activities such as Iron Guide, Modern Cooking, Signature Hunt, Marching............

Out of 11 schools that went, we are the ONLY school with teacher advisers. This shows how committed and responsible our teachers are. They are Cik Lai and Pn Normaria.

After registration, we went to their 4 Sci 4 classroom. I think we should be grateful with our school classrooms. No offense though. Then, activities started with Modern Cooking. We were well represented by Liew Shi Yun (our head prefect), Koay Peng Han, Farah and Foong Kah Hooi. They are supposed to prepare 8 dishes in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Our school good-cooks...

In between the Modern Cooking was the Iron Guide. Liang Kai Qi and Tan Yi Ying from our school joined that activity. It was not easy. It required a really high stamina and must be physically strong. Both of them were able to complete their tasks.

Then, everyone rested in the classroom and waited for the gathering to start. About 5 in the evening, we were to assemble at their basketball court before going into the hall. As we entered the hall, it was really dark. Later, cheers from every school went on and on. We were so quiet because we do not have enough people.

Our sketch started around 6p.m. The members performed a great sketch with the theme of LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS. We got cheers n claps from everyone especially our own rangers. They were screaming, cheering and clapping all the time. MGS spirit!!!

Around 7p.m. we left the hall as permission was given. Pn Normaria was there to make sure everyone of us went out. The gathering ended with smiles on everyone's faces.
Although it was tiring, but I'm sure everyone enjoyed it. We got feedbacks requesting that we have more rangers to join next year to experience something different. Besides, some requested that the school will allow them to stay later since the prize giving ceremony is at the end of the gathering.

Anyway, the school's 12th Unit Rangers would like to thank the school for giving them the chance to attend the gathering and the support given in the preparations. A big thank you to the teachers in charge too. Thank You.
