Hello everyone,
Today is 30 April 2010, last day of April !! Good grief !! Well, it has been a good quarter for us in MGS. We started the year with a bang - a whopping 109 st A's for PMR . For the past 3 years, the PMR exam has been improving steadily , with the school Grade Point Average (GPS) improving from 2.13 - 1.96 - 1.82 - 1.74 (2009). The number of st.As scorers is also going up , from 31 - 66 - 95 - 109 !! Quite scary, if you ask me.
Then in March, our 2009 Form 5 students did us proud with 34 girls scoring all As and 3 out of 15 students in Perak who scored st A+ are from our school. It's quite a feat girls, well done .
On the cocurrilum front, we have been doing very well, too. We are NO. 1 in the district for Interschool English Drama Competiton and Choral Speaking Competition. In the MSSD tennis com., we grabbed all 3 top positions in the under 18 category and 1st and 3rd in under 15. In volleyball, we are zone cham. Remarkable !! And I am sure there is more good news to come in the coming weeks.
I am very proud of you girls for such excellent achievements but I would like to remind you that all these success is through teamwork and commitment. We are all blessed with different gifts and talents, some can write beautifully, some can act, some are very creative and gifted in craftwork . But no one ,however talented she is, can work alone. Remember, everyone is special in our school. Let's remember those who have helped in one way or another, perhaps just a word of encouragement or a suggestion given in good faith. Remember your teachers who have been working alongside you to guide you and to support you. Sometimes,victory again and again can make our heads swell but let's remember to appreciate and remember those who have helped us.
